Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to tuition services provided by Beyond Tuition ("we", "us", "our") to the parent or legal guardian booking tuition ("you", "your").
By booking a free trial or paid tuition with Beyond Tuition, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Beyond Tuition
Beyond Tuition provides online tuition designed to support children's knowledge, confidence and skills. Tuition may be delivered by the owner of Beyond Tuition or by suitably selected tutors engaged by Beyond Tuition to provide lessons on our behalf.
Beyond Tuition remains responsible for managing the tuition service and your booking, regardless of which tutor delivers an individual lesson.
2. Registering interest
Submitting a registration-of-interest form does not create a contract or guarantee a place on a tuition group. Registration of interest allows us to understand demand, availability and suitability and to contact you about the tuition you have expressed an interest in.
There is no obligation to proceed with a free trial or paid tuition following registration of interest. Our Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal information provided to us.
3. Free trial lessons
Where offered, Beyond Tuition may provide a free trial lesson before a parent commits to paid tuition.
The free trial is intended to allow you and your child to experience the tuition and decide whether it is suitable. There is no obligation to book paid tuition following a free trial.
Trial places are subject to availability and may be limited to one trial per child or family.
Beyond Tuition reserves the right to withdraw or rearrange a trial where necessary, including where there are insufficient numbers for a group to operate.
4. Booking tuition
A paid tuition place on each block becomes confirmed when:
-
we have offered you a place;
-
you have accepted the offer; and
-
payment has been made, or another payment arrangement has been expressly agreed with us.
Details of the tuition, including the subject, year group, lesson frequency, lesson length, price and start date, will be confirmed before payment.
Places are subject to availability.
5. Tuition groups
Where tuition is provided as a group, Beyond Tuition will determine the composition and size of the group. We aim to keep groups small so that pupils receive meaningful teacher interaction and support. We may make reasonable changes to group composition where necessary to maintain an appropriate learning environment. We cannot guarantee that every pupil will progress at the same rate or achieve a particular academic outcome.
6. Lesson times
Lessons will take place at the times agreed when the place is booked. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child is available and ready to participate at the agreed time.
Please ensure that your child has access to a suitable device, a reliable internet connection and a quiet environment where reasonably possible.
7. Online lesson platform
Lessons will normally take place using the online platform specified by Beyond Tuition, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
You are responsible for ensuring that your child can access the platform and has the necessary equipment and internet connection.
Where a technical problem on our side prevents a lesson from taking place or materially disrupts it, we will consider the circumstances and, where appropriate, offer a replacement lesson or other reasonable solution.
8. Payment
Tuition must normally be paid in advance for the agreed block of lessons. The price applicable to your booking will be confirmed before payment.
Payment is due by the date specified by Beyond Tuition. A tuition place may not be held indefinitely without payment unless we have expressly agreed otherwise.
We reserve the right to suspend or end tuition where payment remains outstanding.
9. Cancellation and your legal right to cancel
When you book tuition online or otherwise at a distance, you may have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days of entering into it, subject to the circumstances and applicable consumer law.
If you wish to cancel using your statutory cancellation right, please contact Beyond Tuition in writing as soon as possible.
Where you expressly request that tuition begins before the end of the 14-day cancellation period, you acknowledge that you may be required to pay for services supplied up to the point at which you cancel, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
10. Cancelling a block of tuition
After any applicable statutory cancellation period has expired, cancellation of a block of tuition will not be refundable.
Where lessons have already been provided, those lessons will be payable.
Where a refund is due, we will calculate it fairly having regard to the services already provided and any applicable legal rights. We will not use these Terms & Conditions to exclude or restrict any refund or remedy that you are legally entitled to receive.
11. Missed lessons by the pupil
If your child does not attend a scheduled lesson, the lesson will normally count as used.
This includes situations where:
-
your child forgets the lesson;
-
your child is unavailable;
-
your child is unable to access the lesson because of an issue with your own equipment or internet connection.
Where there are exceptional circumstances, please contact us and we will consider whether an alternative arrangement is appropriate.
12. Rearranging lessons
Where reasonably possible, Beyond Tuition may offer an alternative lesson where a pupil is unable to attend.
Any rearrangement is subject to tutor and group availability and cannot be guaranteed.
For group tuition, a missed lesson by one pupil will not normally result in the whole group being rearranged.
13. If Beyond Tuition needs to cancel or rearrange a lesson
We will make reasonable efforts to provide lessons at the agreed times.
Occasionally, a lesson may need to be cancelled or rearranged because of tutor illness, technical problems, unforeseen circumstances or other reasons outside our reasonable control.
Where this happens, we will normally offer a replacement lesson or another appropriate arrangement.
If we are unable to provide the lesson and cannot offer a reasonable replacement, an appropriate refund or credit will be provided where applicable.
14. Tutor changes
Beyond Tuition may occasionally need to change the tutor delivering a lesson.
For example, this may be necessary because of illness, availability or other operational reasons.
We will endeavour to ensure that any replacement tutor has appropriate skills and experience for the tuition being provided. A change of tutor does not automatically entitle a parent to cancel a tuition block or receive a refund, unless otherwise required by law or agreed by Beyond Tuition.
15. Tutor-pupil relationships and communication
All tuition is arranged and managed through Beyond Tuition. Parents should not arrange separate paid tuition directly with a tutor introduced to them through Beyond Tuition without Beyond Tuition's agreement.
Parents should communicate with Beyond Tuition regarding bookings, payments, cancellations, concerns or other administrative matters. Tutors may communicate with parents where reasonably necessary for the delivery of lessons.
16. Safeguarding
Beyond Tuition is committed to providing a safe and appropriate learning environment for children.
Our Safeguarding Policy sets out our approach to safeguarding and responding to concerns.
Parents and pupils are expected to behave appropriately and respectfully towards tutors and other pupils.
Any safeguarding concern should be reported to Beyond Tuition as soon as possible.
Where a safeguarding concern arises, we may take appropriate action in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy and our legal responsibilities.
17. Behaviour
Pupils are expected to participate appropriately and respectfully during lessons.
We understand that children have different needs and behaviours and will seek to respond reasonably and supportively. However, behaviour that seriously disrupts lessons, places another pupil or tutor at risk, or prevents the group from learning may result in the pupil being removed from a lesson or, where necessary, the tuition arrangement being ended.
Where reasonably possible, we will discuss concerns with the parent before ending tuition.
18. Parents' responsibilities
Parents are responsible for:
-
providing accurate information when registering and booking;
-
informing us of any relevant information that may reasonably affect their child's participation in tuition;
-
ensuring their child has the necessary equipment and internet access;
-
ensuring their child is available for lessons at the agreed times;
-
supporting appropriate behaviour during online lessons; and
-
making payments when due.
Parents should tell us about any relevant learning, communication, accessibility or support needs that may help us provide appropriate tuition.
19. Academic outcomes
Beyond Tuition aims to support pupils in developing knowledge, confidence and skills.
However, we cannot guarantee a particular grade, test result, examination result or other academic outcome.
Progress depends on a range of factors, including attendance, engagement, prior knowledge, individual needs and work completed outside lessons.
20. Learning materials and intellectual property
Materials provided by Beyond Tuition, including lesson resources, worksheets, presentations and other original materials, are provided for the personal educational use of the pupil.
Unless we give written permission, materials must not be:
-
reproduced or distributed commercially;
-
uploaded publicly;
-

-

-
substantially copied or adapted for commercial use.
Parents may download or retain materials where this is reasonably necessary for their child's personal educational use.
21. Recording lessons
Lessons must not be recorded, photographed, screenshotted or otherwise captured by parents or pupils without the prior permission of Beyond Tuition and the relevant participants.
Beyond Tuition will record lessons for
22. Confidentiality
We will treat information provided by parents and pupils appropriately and in accordance with our Privacy Notice and applicable data protection law.
We may need to share information where necessary to provide the tuition service, manage safeguarding concerns, comply with legal obligations or protect the safety of a child or another person.
23. Privacy and personal information
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
The Privacy Notice explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how long we retain it and the rights available to individuals under applicable data protection law.

24. Complaints
We want parents and pupils to have a positive experience with Beyond Tuition.
If you have a concern about the tuition service, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to understand the issue and resolve it.
Complaints will be considered fairly and proportionately.
25. Ending tuition
Beyond Tuition or the parent may bring an ongoing tuition arrangement to an end, subject to any agreed booking period, cancellation rights and applicable consumer law.
Beyond Tuition may end tuition immediately where there are serious safeguarding concerns, abusive or threatening behaviour, serious disruption, non-payment or another serious breach of these Terms & Conditions.
Where tuition is ended by Beyond Tuition for a reason that is not the parent's fault, any appropriate refund will be considered fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
26. Circumstances outside our control
Beyond Tuition will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing tuition where this is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
This may include significant technical failures, widespread internet or platform outages, serious illness, emergencies or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been prevented.
We will nevertheless make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption and provide an appropriate alternative where possible.
27. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
In particular, nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory consumer rights or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, Beyond Tuition will not be responsible for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable or for problems caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
28. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our services or legal requirements.
The Terms & Conditions applying to a particular booking will be those provided to you when you make that booking, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed with you.
29. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer.
